Fresh Blood Orange Gin

- Famous last words from founder Zane to Adam, Jan 2024.

Born from a frustration of the big brands launching ‘Blood Orange’ products any time of year, that have likely never seen a real blood orange, and that are often a nuclear orange colour. This sparked a 2 month long quest for Adam in trying to create the ultimate expression of gin containing FRESH, SEASONAL, blood oranges.

For those that don’t know, the season on blood oranges is incredibly short, with the majority of the fruit coming from December through to February. So the team understand, they’re a nightmare to work with! (As Adam found out).

However, not to be deterred they decided to go away and create a gin that used both the ZEST & FLESH of fresh blood oranges to give this gin its distinctive colour and flavour.

Ingredients & Process

Botanicals:

• Juniper
• Angelica Root
• Coriander
• Orris
• Lemon Thyme
• Fresh Seasonal Blood Orange (Zest & Juice).

Maceration:

48 hours, British Grain Neutral Spirit

Distillation:

Vacuum Distillation, 20-40 Celsius

Post Distillation:

Juice of blood orange blended in post distillation

Water:

Essex Spring Water (Elsenham)
